Abstract
Hermite spectral method plays an important role in the simulation of PDEs in unbounded domains. However, it is difficult to find sharp convergence results of Hermite spectral approximations for analytic functions. In this talk, I will introduce recent advances on convergence analysis of Hermite approximations for analytic functions. Particularly, our analysis establishes the root-exponential convergence of Gauss-Hermite quadrature under explicit conditions on the integrands, which has been considered as a folklore for a long time.

王海永,2010年博士毕业于中南大学数学与统计学院,2011-2012年在比利时鲁汶大学(荷语)从事博士后研究,2013年进入华中科技大学数学与统计学院工作。主要从事谱方法、高振荡问题高效数值方法等问题的研究。2021年获教育部高等学校科学研究优秀成果奖二等奖(排名第二),在SIAM J. Numer. Anal., Numer. Math., Math. Comp.,lMA J. Numer. Anal.等计算数学期刊发表论文三十余篇。
