Abstract
We investigate the Darcy-Boussinesq model for convection in layered porous media. The model is intimately related to geologic carbon sequestration. We establish the well-posedness of the model in two and three spatial dimension, and derive the regularity of the solutions in a novel piecewise twice differentiable function space. We also present efficient long-time stable numerical schemes. These schemes have the potential to simulate the long-time sequestration process. Various asymptotic behavior will also be briefly discussed.

王晓明教授本科及硕士毕业于复旦大学,博士毕业于印第安纳大学布卢明顿分校,主要研究方向为应用偏微分方程及其数值方法,在CPAM、JFM、SINUM、JCP等杂志发表论文100多篇。曾任职纽约库朗研究所、普林斯顿高等研究院、爱荷华州立大学、佛罗里达州立大学(教授、系主任)、复旦大学(特聘教授)、南方科技大学(讲席教授、数学系主任)。现任美国密苏里科技大学Havener Endowed Chair.
