Abstract
The finite volume element method (FVEM) is one of the main discretization schemes for PDE. Many progresses has been done for the analysis of the FVEM recent years. This talk mainly focuses on the L2 analysis and superconvergence property of the FVEM. Applications of the FVEM to some practical problems will also be included in this talk.
About Dr. Wang
Dr. Xiang Wang is a postdoctoral at the Research Center for Mathematical. He received his PhD from Jilin University in 2016 and became an associate professor at Jilin University in 2020. His research interests are the construction and analysis of the finite volume element method (FVEM). He proposed the "orthogonal condition" and the modified M-decomposition (MMD) technique for the FVEM with cooperaters, and proved the optimal L2 error estimates and the superconvergence property of the FVEM in 1D and on triangular meshes.
